Hotel de standing à 2 pas de la Hancok Tower (donc très bien situé). Tout est parfait mais les parking à Chicago st très chers. Nous n'avons pas trop apprécié qu'on "oublie" de ns signaler le parking public à 50m au bout de la rue à 35$ et qu'on nous pousse à nous garer en face à 50$/jour (Donc 3 au lieu de 5 sur les conditions de l'hôtel). Sinon, impeccable !! (comme Chicago : on adore)

Our expectations consisted of a four night stay in a River North Chicago hotel with updated decor and technology at a reasonable total cost. The room consisted of a king bed within 180 square feet of room space with a north view during the hotest week of August 2010. The cold water circulating air conditioning system was able to maintain a constant temperature of 70 degrees with ease with noticeable levels of fan noise that required boosting the sound volume on the LCD television at times. Quality bathroom fixtures and updated bathroom decor combined to meet our expectations in an efficently used compact space. We did not expect to use room service or dine on site due to dozens of world class restaurants within one half mile of the Millenium Knickerbocker. We are planning a return trip within the next three months for the convenient theatre and restaurants south of the Millenium Knickerbocker.

Bed comforter smelled as if it was put on still damp and smelled like stinky feet. For a family of 4 staying there with 2 double beds, it would have been nice to have a table and not just a desk with 1 chair. Overall, our stay was very nice.

Movies cost minimum of $14. Room service for 4 was $90. Super small room with double beds, instead of queens. Very comfortable beds though! Newly renovated bathroom was beautiful! Super close to Oak Strret Beach!

Stayed the weekend at the Millennium Knickerbocker. The room was great! One of the most comfortable bed's I've ever slept in. Very clean and quiet. Location is Amazing as well. Close to the oak st. beach Michighan Ave and Rush street. would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The resepsjon manager denied the arrivial of our tickets. That made us loose the most of a day rectifying it. The rooms has a noisy fixed speed aircon that wake you up in the night when it starts. This unit need to be replaced.

I was not sure what to expect from this place since I booked it last minute and got a fantastic price. I was afraid it would be too good to be true. Low and behold when we arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and luxurious feel of this hotel. Our room was not ready when we arrived. I was a little bummed about that since I wanted to relax and stretch a bit before heading out to explore the city. We decided to just go and grab dinner while we waited for our room. The room was nicely updated with updated fixtures and furnishings. Definitely felt worm and cozy. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Located right next door to the John Hancock center and close to everything downtown. You have to walk a bit to get to the subway, but the city is nice you don't really notice the walk (a few blocks).

The Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago is very near things to do and see. That's the main reason I would recommend it to others. Outside of that, our room was 'nice', spacious even compared to others. Our biggest 'complaints' would be the fact that our room was literally next to the elevator on our floor, which meant that no shortage of chitchat by others waiting could be heard outside our door ALL the time. It felt like being seated next to the swinging door to the kitchen at a restaurant. Also, the tub was missing part of the handle/lever for the shower. It seems strange that this isn't addressed when service people are in the room cleaning, etc. The lobby is small, practical and without frills of any kind. For some reason, the photos made this place look somehow more 'grande'.

Very happy to stay at this hotel. Right next to the Magnificent Mile and only a 10 mile walk to the "L" subway. We had a 15 min ride to Wrigley and a 20 minute ride to US Cellular. Beach is only 5 minutes from the hotel. A great hotel, very quiet,very clean.

The hotel staff were really helpful and friendly, especially the concierge who managed to sort us out a few skip the line passes for Giordano's pizza and gave brilliant advice on what to do and where to visit. The hotel beds are really comfortable and the rooms very nice. The bathrooms are quite small but the showers are great and they provide all the little extras. The hotel itself is very nice, with a nice art deco feel to it. Its position in relation to the beach and nearest bus/cta line is very good (5-10 min walk at most) Would definitely stay there again. I would recommend to anyway staying that they go to Giordano's for an authentic chicago pizza. Also, Buddy Guy's blues club is a really good night out! The Hancock building has brilliant views and you can enjoy a cocktail while you are up there. The Sear's Willis tower is also amazing and definitely worth going to. The best tour we found was the segway tour which took you around all the best sights and in particular the view from the planetarium is the best in all chicago for photos of the skyline!!

The air-condition has a noisy fan/compressor in each room. It starts every 3 to 5 min and the noise will wake you up. At least the first night. This is an old fashion system that needs to be replaced. The postal service at the hotel is non-working. The hotel messed up our concert tickets that was correctly addressed and transported by UPS. The tickets were at the Hotel General Managers office. The reception denied that they had arrived. We had to spend most of a day travelling to the ticket agent to resolve it. The Hotel did not find any reason to apologize for the inconvenience. The concert was the reason for our travel to Chicago. Else, the Hotel had good standard, free internet in the lobby, not to good view from the rooms, and friendly staff at the restaurants and the bars. We had booked 20 room-nights all together staying at room 612, 425 and 431 from the 23rd June.

We stayed here for five nights and every aspect was great. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Giving great suggestions about places to eat at and things to see. We really enjoyed it and I would stay there again.

We were really excited to stay at the Knickerbocker. Unfortunately it was everything we never wanted and more. For the price we paid we could have gotten significantly better comfort out of our room. The beds were ridiculous, the pillows flat, no matter how many we got. We couldn't get the air to cool down and neither could our friends a few doors down. While the people were nice, a stay at the hotel is ultimately about the comfort of the room, and our experience here was flat.

The hotel was reasonably clean, and staff was reasonably helpful, etc, but it did not live up to it's reputation. Given that this is one of the more famous and supposedly high-end hotels in Chicago, I expected something better than "adequate". It's getting a bit run down, and the interior actually looked as though they'd been trying to remodel and run out of money part way through the project - the bathroom appeared newly redone and quite nice (with the exception that there was only a shower- no tub), and there was a widescreen TV, but other details appeared old or shabby - particularly the hallways. Overall I got a bigger and nicer room in a nicer feeling hotel by going to the Loop's Hampton Inn. Given their relative reputations and star ratings, I found this difference quite stunning. The Millennium Knickerbocker is a decent hotel - stay there if you get a good deal, but it's not worth all the fuss.

Very comfortable bed. Very small room. Very heavy room door. Room temp good, fan speed should be reduced to make the ac quieter. No street noise. Didn't like the rain shower. Didn't have standard shower option, only a hand held as an option. Bathroom door did not shut tight. Could see the beach & lake from the room.

It's always hard booking a hotel with only the hotel website as a visual guide. Often the images used here are way better than the actual hotel. Not so with the Knickerbocker - it was actually even better than I was expecting. It was fantastic! The room was a great size (King room) and ultra clean. The pillow top bed was heavenly. I'd read reviews complaining about room size but both my room and the room booked separately by family members were large. Plenty of room. The hotel is a beautifully restored and (more importantly) maintained historic hotel. The bar and lobby area were very inviting and exuded a welcoming charm. The cocktails were great too :) The neighbourhood was fabulous - conveient and very safe - walkable distance to everything and close to the L-train if walking isn't your thing. The reception staff and concierge were friendly and knowledgeable and always happy to help. I will definitely return to Chicago and will definitely stay at the Knickerbocker again. I loved it.

The hotel was great, although the rooms are very small. The location was perfect and the concierge was AMAZING. However, the Martini Bar had the worst service I had ever encountered. The waiter/bar tender was TERRIBLE! I wanted to order a glass of wine and a pizza but I couldn't get served. I finally had to go to the bar (after waiting 20min) and place my order. I finished my glass of wine and was never asked if I wanted another. The pizza was the worst pizza I had ever ate as well.

The staff did not display a "glad you're here" personality. I've worked in the tourism industry for over 25 years. The people that were on the front line the night I checked in would not be the people that I would want to represent my company. They charged my debit card $75 for the deposit. I was very upset because this was not explained when I booked this reservation and I knew that if they ran a authorization, it would take away from the funds that I had set aside for NYE.(which included, but not limited to drinks in the "Martini Bar" and breakfast at the restaurant. Those charges are not put back on the debit card immediately. It takes 4-5 days. The hotel gave me an ultimatium to either put it on my card, put up a cash deposit or I would have to leave the hotel. If it had not been NYE and I knew that I could have gotten another hotel, I would have left the proprety. Their customer service was not what I expected from a 4-star property. Upon check out I asked the front desk clerk if I could have the address to corporate. She informed me that she could not find an address. She gave me the telephone number only.(It is my sincere hope that corporate reads this review because I would like to know what they think about their employees who either don't know or will not supply the address to their guets.) Also, when I asked for a reciept and they couldnt produce one. They told me that I had to get it from expedia. why would I get it from expedia when I made the reservations through hotels.com. I will say on the positive side that the room was very nice. Would I stay at the Millennium Knickerbocker again. No! I know that I am only one person, but I make it a point to spend my money where I'm appreciated and there are several other properties that will treat me like I am a valuable consumer. Because of the treatment that my finance and I received, we decided that we did not want to eat breakfast at the hotel. We did spend the evening listening to the Jazz Trio in the Marti

My wife and i got a 1/2 price deal on this property on the tail end of new year weekend.We are veterans of the city and have stayed at many other hotels downtown including the one across the street and others in this area.I was pleased right away with our reception and the service never let us down.We ordered room service and were very satisfied.The bathrooms are newly re-done and were nice.This is realy one the best locations to stay downtown in chicago you are right on the mag mile and about midway between the loop,navy pier and the north side.You are right next to the hancock and water tower place.There is a nice bar in the lobby.The overall cleanliness of this hotel was very good.The only negatives we had was no phonebook or robes in the room(even though they said there was).The valet parking will set you back 50 bucks,which is high but not uncommon at a downtown hotel.The pillows did kind of flaten out like i read in another reveiw.Overall it was a nice experince and i would stay here again especialy at the great sale price which was phenominal for downtown chicago!

We needed to call maintenance more than ever expected. Remote control didn't work for TV (was switched out) when we turned on the heat it sounded like a monster was in our vents (Mike fixed the problem after 20mins), the radio only worked for 2 stations (was switched out). However, he was very prompt and took care of the situations, however it would have made the stay a great 9 if it was already taken care of before we got there.
