The overall experience was great. The only blemish to the hotel was the work being done on the pool area and the exercise room had some equipment that did not work. The restaurants, common areas, bowling lanes, complimentary shuttle to and from the strip and the party halls in the hotel were great!

The Gold Coast is one of those gems for budget travelers that are often hard to find. The rooms are clean; the beds are comfortable. If you are on a budget, this hotel is better than most of the cheaper ones on/near Fremont Street, in my opinion, and I've stayed at nearly all of them. The staff are courteous, and there are table games and even poker right inside the 4 walls.

This hotel has some rooms that have been renovated and others that have not. I checked in, specifically asked for non-smoking, and the front desk person intentionally gave me a smoking suite, and said most people didn't mind. She then gave me a non-smoking, disabled room that had not been renovated. Gross bathroom with peeling paint, gross environment. Would not stay there again without an updated room.

This is a nice hotel, and good price. You basically get the Vegas Strip experience for a fraction of the price and just slightly off the strip itself. The Chinese restaurant was great, the room was real cozy (we stayed at the premium room). Every employee I ran into was very courteous. I would definitely stay here again.

I've stayed at the Gold Coast Premium rooms for the 3 years, and this year is the year that I've noticed the rooms taking a wear and tear in it's appearance. The room wasn't as I expected. We stay at the Gold Coast at least twice a year and this stay wasn't comparable to our other stays.

Commentaire d'un client de Hotels.com le août 14, 2010
This hotel should have a rank of 4+ stars. granted its not the "pish-posh" of the hyped up palms and others similar to the 'boutique' vibe...but personally, I don't need that trash more then a walk across the street to be drowning in the pompus environment of a stuffy place like the Palms. the rooms, service and overall experience of the Gold Coast were top notch for me! exactly the relaxing type of place located within an "arms reach" of the excitement. easy to retreat from the chaos of the strip, but with a similar stereotypical "Vegas" vibe! I was relatively surprised at my stay with the Gold Coast. They met and exceeded my expectations on a variety of levels. Upon check-in, i made a statement and they made an accommodation for me immediately and were able to help me get into an even more enjoyable room for the same price! They didn't try to up-sell, they simply did their job at making a patron happy! The room was clean, well prepared and conveniently located for this portion of my stay in Las Vegas. An excellent way to welcome me to Sin City! It was relaxing, a little out of the way, which was a blessing and a bit of a curse, but I chose to stay there. Wasn't too far from the strip and nice to be across the street from a lot of things to do at the Palms if I wanted to hit up the nightlife there. The hotel was well maintained, room service and housekeeping were prompt and respectful of my wishes. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a nice place to stay without breaking the bank! It gives the patron more money to spend on the gambling or shows and truly enjoy Vegas! Plus, the liquor store in the lobby, superb! they dont charge outrageous prices for booze to keep in your room! Very convenient trait and smart planning on their part! keeps the gears "lubed up" so you can keep spending money with the Gold Coast!

Commentaire d'un client de Hotels.com le août 13, 2010
Everything was good about the hotel and casino except that they did not seem to have enough staff. Here are a few examples; when I went to the cashier to cash in my gaming ticket, there was only one person helping in the cashier's cage. When the person in front of the rest of us in line had a problem, we had to wait 20 minutes before we got to take our turn. When I went to check out there was only one person at the reception desk and the check out line was growing by the minute when the customer who was being helped was having an issue. At one point another customer in line went looking for more help, couldn't find anyone and shouted out to the employee could he possibly get someone else to help us. His response was "No" and went back to trying to resolve his current issue. And finally the valet parking had only one employee as I was getting ready to leave and he was trying to do it all by himself, taking in new cars, and retrieving ones for the customers who wanted to leave. This may have been an isolated incident as it all happened to me as I was trying to leave that day. Besides this the overall stay was very pleasant.

I have stayed at this hotel precisely two times. The first time I stayed there, I was put in an extremely nice room with modern decor, a plasma tv, and a bathroom that just makes you want to stay in the shower all day. The hotel room was given to me at an inexpensive rate, even for a weekend, and during my stay there, I enjoyed the hotel and it's features, as well as their service and prices, immensely. On my second visit, I booked the exact same package for the exact same days, and it was three times as expensive. I was informed that there was no holiday or special events that weekend, but given no explanation for the extreme increase in price. Upon arrival and check-in, I was treated rather rudely by the desk clerk, who then proceeded to inform me that the room type I had booked was unavailable, and proceeded to put me in one of their not yet remodeled, tacky, unattractive rooms. It had much smaller beds, out of date wooden furniture, terrible linens, a bad view, and no privacy whatsoever between the bathroom and living area, so my friends were forced to turn their backs when someone needed to change clothing. I requested a smoking room and was given a non smoking room, and when I inquired about the possibility of changing to a nicer room, at my own additional cost, I was informed that there was not one single vacancy in the hotel. What kind of hotel does not leave a single extra room available in case a situation in which someone needed a different room should arise? Due to the elevated cost of the hotel and the overall lack of Vegas polish and shine that came with it, we hardly gambled in their casino and didn't spend a dime on their luxuries. Had I been given the room I requested and paid for, I would have enjoyed the hotel much more, and felt that they were more deserving of the money I would have spent on room service, the spa, and gambling, not to mention drinks... I really loved this hotel the first time I stayed there but was shocked at what a differen

We alternate between, Sams, Orleans and Gold Coast. The advantage with the last two, you are so handy to the strip. We love the Gold Coast as its a little older and more like a home away from home. Its not the most modern but we were on the lower floors where it hasn't been updated yet, but those top floors are great.

Gold Coast is a gem that’s not on the strip but not far away. It has great restaurants inside the hotel including TGI-Fridays that features a great happy-hour daily and breakfast that’s perfect for the morning hang-over. Also, in walking distance is the Palms Hotel directly across the street where you can enjoy more of the nightclub scene, you have 4 clubs to choose from. All and all Gold Coast is your best bet, the rooms are clean, the check-in staff is always a pleasure and the price is fabulous. You have to try it.

This was our first stay after using the 4 Queens several times prior. What a breath of fresh air. The casino felt much cleaner and the resurauntes were wonderful. The Cortez room in particularly nice. Then the hotel room was great. They make the beds with a sheet under the blanket as well as on top of the blanket. Normally have to request that service and was very pleased to see it was common practice. And the wonderful shower was perfect. We will return to the Gold Coast foe every Vegas visit. I forgot to mention the convenient self parking and the free gym. We were happy and look forward to our next trip.

This was my first time in Las Vegas, and after visiting a couple other hotels while I was there (for 3 nights), I feel lucky having decided to stay at the Gold Coast. We got a good deal on the third night of our stay, and had no problems with the hotel service. We took advantage of the food specials, and the gaming area there was just as good as at any of the pricier hotels. And your just a quick shuttle or car ride from the Strip. For those with a limited budget who still want a clean, quality hotel, be sure to check out the Gold Coast.

This hotel does not have dead bolt locks. Therefore, don't be surprised if the maid opens your hotel room door at 8 a.m. and the door gets caught by the chain and they can see you right there sleeping on the bed in whatever you sleep in. The do not disturb signs don't work, because the maids will just tell you that the sign said please make up room and it will be your word against theirs. I had read on the internet that this type of intrusion happens at this hotel, but I didn't actually believe it until it happened to me. The maids try to be as noisy as possible in the mornings, so you've been warned. Other than this, the Gold Coast is a nice place to stay and a good value for the money.

Commentaire d'un client de Hotels.com le juin 14, 2010
I got a premium room. It was comfortable and clean. A good deal for the price. I've seen reviews and most of the complaints are for the rooms that were NOT renovated. If you have modest expectations, the rooms will work for you. The casino is filled with mostly locals and is subdued. It doesn't have any of the glamour and flash associated with the major resorts on the strip. There is a shuttle that takes you to the strip that usually comes every 1/2 hour. However, there was one time where it ended up taking 1hr 15 min. for the shuttle to arrive. In otherwords, what would've been a cab ride under 10 minutes took me 1 hr 15 min. So beware, what you get in money saved you trade for in time wasted. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay and not really hang out too much in, this is a good place, especially if you have a car or you don't mind taking taxis everywhere. The Palms Casino and the Rio are right next to Gold Coast so you can walk to these places but to everywhere you're probably gonna need transportation.
