rien à redire, hôtel confortable, chambre de base un peu petite mais qui ne nous a pas dérangé vu le temps passé dedans. seul point négatif, les prix excessifs des repas à la carte.

Joli hôtel, décoration branchouille et couloirs trop parfumé. La chambre est petite (NY oblige), mais très confortable et propre, par contre double vitrage insuffisant, j'y ai donc passé une très mauvaise nuit à cause du bruit de la rue et des travaux nocturne ! De plus leur business center est nul = deux oridnateurs dans un couloir avec internet extrêmement lent (pour 10 mn de connexion = 8 mn attente de chargement !), Bref à moins d'être sourd je ne conseil pas cet hôtel .

Pour une nuit c'est ok.Plus ca ne va pas être facile. La chambre est belle mais elle est extrement petite. Perso une fois ma valise ouverte il me fallait vraiment faire attention ou j marchais !! Je en pense pasz y retrouner meme si les condition gale sont parfaite.

The hotel was clean and modern with a great location. The only problem arose once I got home - the hotel charged my credit card (which they told me they needed for incidentals) for the room even though I had booked and paid for it through hotels.com. They credited my card when I called, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Overall, experience was good. My only complaint is that I had tonpay a lot of money to print out something from the Internet at the business center. Just irritating.

No desk in the room made it extremely difficult to work. It should be noted in the description.

We picked this hotel because the reviews were mostly positive, the price was reasonable (for NYC), and the location. I was very happy with everything in the hotel, especially the wireless Internet, which worked perfectly on the 15th floor! The lobby is definitely tiny and our room could have used a chair (other than the desk chair) but the room was clean and quiet.

Mediocre at best. We reserved an "executive king" room. The room was smaller than advertised. both windows looked out at an air shaft. The room was very dark, Shower grout was in need of a good cleaning. That said - the staff were very nice. and the hotel very well located. The price was excellent so I guess I got what I paid for!

We got the standard queen room which was small, but that wasn't really an issue since we didn't spend much time in the room. If you are going to have a lot of luggage though you may want to upgrade to one of the bigger rooms because then it may be a problem. The hotel was clean and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again next trip to NYC.

Loved Hotel Mela - young and hip - great value and boutique atmosphere. Check in staff and concierge were friendly and very helpful! Great Midtown location easily accessible to theatre district and Bryant Park area restaurants. Would stay there again and we usually stay at higher priced Whotels.

The hotel is a minute walk, right to the heart of Times Square. The staff was delightful and extremely helpful. If upgrades are available, they were very accomodative. Tyrone was awesome and we had a great time based on his recommendations. At the front desk, Rose and Nia were great. The rooms were clean and had everything you needed, some with a small charge, but not outrageous. The lobby was tiny but cool, but who hangs out there anyway, when you got all of NYC for that. I would definately stay there again. Compared to the other big chain$, this is the way to go in Times Square. Later.

Great location, reasonable rates, helpful staff. To accomodate the whole family, I booked three rooms, but the room quality for the same level of rooms, in this case Deluxe King, was not consistent. One room was somewhat less deluxe than the other two. Mela advertises courtyard or city view for deluxe king rooms. All three of ours overlooked other rooftops with less than appealing views. Overall, a good experience, but there seems to be somewhat of a "luck of the draw" with the room quality. I would have thought that, when I booked three rooms at once, they would have made an effort to make them all consistent.

I don't understand people who gave this hotel low rating. I came here with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised - location is just steps from Times Square, on a quiet stretch of 44th St. Hotel is clean, classy and well maintained and service is excellent. Rooms are on the small side, but that's to be expected in NY. Couple of nice bars and a great BBQ restaurant just next door.

Hotel Mela is a slightly above average hotel that has been renovated to try to achieve a "cool" vibe and only partially succeeds. The lobby has some worn-looking velveteen chairs, and the rooms are slightly above average. The hotel was clean though and well-located just steps from Times Square. They gave me a twin room instead of a queen and when I asked for the room I reserved they said the hotel was full and they could not give me the room I reserved. Pricey for the quality given.

Hotel Mela was close to Times Square without having to deal with the crowds when we had had enough. The atmosphere in the Hotel was great - the staff was equally friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We were there to meet friends in the city for dinner. They stopped by the hotel to see it because they are looking for a better place to stay. They said they will be guests there from now on also.

The hotel was fine and that's it...fine. For a "boutique" hotel, we felt it should have been less like a Hilton. Below average beds and bathrooms. Very small pillows. They advertised many amenities that either we did not see or were not told how to find them. That being said everything was clean and average, nothing special.

This hotel was very charming and very conveniently located given the activities that I had planned for a December weekend. Inbetween Bryant Park and Times Squre, it was convenient and easily accessible. Renovated in a very "chic" style, the room was very small. However, the location, quiet atmosphere and price for a December weekend certainly made up for the smallness. The staff was friendly and helpful and there was complimentary hot coco available in the lobby. I would gladly consider another stay at the Hotel Mela

Everyone at the hotel is very friendly. The location is perfect. Times Square is just down the street, a minute away from the hotel. We walked to all of the locations we needed to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, 5th Ave., Dylan's, Serendpity. We used the subway (located at Times Square) twice to go to Battery Park and to meet with our friends. The room was small, but that was expected, clean, and comfortable. Would stay there again when we go back

Don't tell too many people about this...it is a gem.

We reserved a deluxe room and were "bumped" to an executive room which was bigger. I didn't actually see the deluxe room to compare, but the executive room was a great size for the price we paid. It was decorated nicely and the room smelled fresh and clean when we walked in. The bed was very, very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was fantastic. Can't beat the location if you are seeing a show. We had breakfast at the adjoining restaurant. The service was great, the food was pricey and not anything to speak of. I would suggest venuring elsewhere for breakfast.

The room was very clean but very small. The little room we had was filled with stuff they were trying to sell you for rip off prices. We had no place to put our stuff and they even had there stuff blocking the TV with no place to put it out of the way.

My view was of an alley. Not so pretty. It was however, super clean and very nicely decorated. Also the staff was great. Considering the cost and how much time I actually spent in the room the view wasn't a big deal.

Small hotel with small rooms but the staff are really great and I have been able to check in really early on all my stays which makes a difference when coming in on a redeye from the West Coast. Book an executive room if you can for a bit more room.

Hotel Mela is close to broadway and subway. Very great location. Room is quite small. But it's clean. Good price for the location.

the hotel location is the best in city. Close to everything but nor in the middle of it. Sooo great to sleep at night

This hotel was in a great location, right next to time square, and was beautiful on the inside. The room was comfy and welcoming as well as pristinely clean. The staff was also unbelievably helpful and courteous. I would definately recommend this hotel for visitors to NYC.

Great room in a good location.

The hotel has a convenient location to Times Square and Broadway shows. The hotel staff were helpful and the room was clean. However, the hotel has no lobby to speak of and the elevators are tiny, holding at most five people. The rooms are small as are the bathrooms. Our bathroom shower only had one shower door, and despite all of our efforts, a lot of water went onto the bathroom floor. I have stayed at a number of New York Hotels and unfortunately this hotel would be at the bottom of the list.
